4th of July Weekend

So Aaron was off of work on Thursday and Friday and so that was my 4th of July weekend. On Thursday we went to eat at Red Lobster (lunch menu, much cheaper) and I had popcorn shrimp and a salad(no tartar sauce like usual, I opted for cocktail sauce b/c it was lighter on the calories). We went to the movies after that to see Wanted with Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie- you wanna see a movie? See that one! It is the best movie I have seen in years! Aaron HAD to have popcorn so I let him get it but I didn't eat any of it, instead I munched on a couple starburst candies. Later that night we went to Walmart to get our groceries for the week(ever since I discovered Walmart groceries were so much cheaper we have been able to keep the bill under $100 every week!!)...then we stopped at Taco bell and each got 2 hard shell tacos and pulled over to watch fireworks being set off while we ate them. Then we came back home and me and Aaron set off playing Crash Bandicoot on Playstation trying to beat it. Very fun day and I loved it. On Friday(the 4th) we wanted to really have fun because it is my fave holiday and it seems like a lot of the time we are always doing something besides what we want to do on holidays so this year we decided we were going to do our own thing and screw anyone who didn't like it. So we went to the NC Zoo in Asheboro. It was so much fun but God I wish someone woud have warned me about all the hills!! Yikes! I made it 3/4 of the way through the Africa side of the zoo and had to rent a wheelchair to make it the rest of the way! Poor Aaron had to push me around the rest of the park- no I wasn't being lazy. I sit down the majority of the day so any physical activity kills me when I do and this was no different. I felt like I was dying!! Everything was uphill and I was slowing us down because I had to stop and sit every 2 minutes. I knew I was out of shape but I didn't know it was that bad geez! The heat didn't make it any easier on us but we made it through and had a great time in the process. Did I mention the water in the park was $3.00!! So we opted to have lunch outside the park- oh and by the way, breakfast was McDonald's- we got there as they started serving lunch so I had 2 cheeseburgers and a Sprite for breakfast. Lunch was Arby's- I had a sprite, a medium fry, and a medium roast beef sandwich. We came home and it was storming. We played some more Crash until it was time for the fireworks show here in Davidson. We drove into the town and watched them- they were okay, there was an annoying tree in the way but we saw the majority of them. We decided we were hungry for some dinner so we went to Taco Bell and I ordered Nachos Bell Grande and a sprite. Came home, watched TV, then went to bed. Aaron had to go back to work today and I was sad because the past 2 days were great. But I needed to get myself back on track eating wise- anyhow I told you all of that to say this: I thought for sure I was going to pack on 20 pounds from eating like a cow! So this morning I step on the scale for my weekly weigh in and what do I see? 214.5! This is the same thing I weighed last Saturday!! I was stoked! And believe it or not I learned something this weekend- I need, really need, my treadmill. I think it misses me so I am going to start spending more time with it. It was really embarrassing to be rolling around the zoo in a wheelchair when people 2X as big as me didn't need one. So I will be working on that. Anyhow I am sure I have bored everyone to death so I am signing off- be back later with more updates!

I stepped on the scale twice to make sure lol!

So I forgot to weigh in on Saturday so I did it just now and this is INCREDIBLE!!! Down 3.5 pounds!! I thought after last week I would have gained- but nope, I lost!! Now if I could just convince myself that the treadmill is my friend I would probably be down a whole lot more! But I am super happy with this loss- you have no idea!!

Good News!

Weighed in- lost a half a pound! I know that doesn't seem to matter much but this week I thought I was going to gain and I didn't!! I had a whopper jr. and fries one night and then last night I had an extra big brownie (I did sub in egg whites while mixing) so I thought for sure I would have gained- but I didn't and I am super happy about that! Sunday I am starting the treadmill- I have to find a way to make exercise less of a chore... I hate it that much! We are going to the grocery store tonight and shopping for the week- my sister is with us this week so it will be harder to get the healthier things due to money but I am going to try my hardest! I also would like to find more things to blog about my weight...I feel like I have slowed down blogging due to having nothing to say. I will think of something like maybe my daily struggles or whatnot. So anyways- I hope everyone has a great week and thanks for reading!

Father's Day Picnic

Weigh in was this morning- I lost 1.5 pounds!! So that is good considering I haven't worked out a single bit!! I got the hubby to give up the baked chips this week- yes I can eat them but I would do so much better if all things even resembling a chip is removed from the house!! I am just so happy that the weight is coming off- I don't even care the rate at which it comes off, as long as it's coming off. Tomorrow will be a bit of a splurge for me because we are headed to Asheville to see my family for Father's Day. While I am super excited and love my family to death they are great cooks. This would be fine except they are really skilled in the country cooking department! That equals great flavors and high fat! On the menu is: Fried Chicken, homemade potato salad(the only one in the world I will eat), banana pudding, and a whole bunch of sides. We are going on a picnic to the Carolina Hemlocks with all of this food! I am going to have a little of everything... a lot of the veggie side dished and a small bit of chicken and potato salad. It is amazing how well this time around losing weight is going for me... before I would have said, "You know what, I can eat what I want just this one time and it will be fine." I wouldn't have even thought about eating more of the veggies and less of the fat- but now I think to myself, "Hmm, I can still have some chicken and potato salad, but why fill up on those? I'll eat a ton of veggies and have the chicken and potato salad as my side dishes!" So I think this time around I am finally learning the difference between a diet and a lifestyle change! Thank God for that! I haven't been to the grocery store yet this week but I will get there. I will try to post more on here I just want to avoid boring everyone to death! Today is going to be boring but I guess I am going to go face it head on! Thanks for reading!

Hot and Humid!

Today was my weigh in day- and I maintained. No gain, no loss. It is bittersweet in a way b/c while I want to lose I am happy I didn't gain. My scale only weighs in 1/2 pounds so for all I know I could have lost tenths off of my weight. It is my fault because I haven't been on the exercise bandwagon! I have this treadmill staring me in the face everyday and somehow manage to avoid it- tell me how that happens!? Anyways, today I am making Vegetarian Chili- it's in the crock pot right now and will stay there till about 7:00 tonight. I have my eating down for the most part- there are still some kinks that need ironing out. I want to eat 5 times a day in small increments. I think when I go to the store I will get some granola bars to eat during the day because right now I am having breakfast, a handful of baked Cheetos in the daytime, and dinner. So basically no lunch but I am going to work to change that! It is so hot here for the past few days- i'm talking in the 100's! Today I believe is in the 90's but yesterday was definitely in the 100's! This is good because it makes me drink a good bit of water! I don't have much else to talk about but I will update as soon as I do!! Bye guys!

1) what was the best moment of your life?
-The day I married Aaron! We haven't had our real wedding yet but we will. We just had a short courthouse wedding but I need the pretty pictures to show off so a real wedding is in order!!

2) If you could pick a super power what would it be?
-To teleport myself anywhere in the world within a matter of minutes.

3) If there was one thing that you could do, with no limits of any kind what, would it be?
-Dance! I love dancing but I have lost a lot of flexibility...never was as flexible as I would like though.

4) Whats the weirdest dream you've ever had?
-When I was a little girl I dreamt that I went down into our basement and a green evil scientist zipped me up in a suitcase and was going to leave me there to die...I had this dream repeatedly.

5) What is the weirdest thing about you?
-I'm not sure...There is really no telling.

6) whats your favorite self made philosophy?
-I don't have any self made ones but I do believe in karma.

7) what (if any) question has been the most annoying unanswered question of your life?
-Why do we sit in driveways and drive on parkways?

-It is really fun and gives me something to do!!

Updates on Usual

Last night I went to the grocery store and bought a lot more produce than normal and paid a lot more than normal in turn. But I am trying to eat healthier and thus these things happen. So I will update this later tonight but right now I just want to show you the beautiful fruit salad I made and the meatballs for my homemade spaghetti and meatballs. The meatball picture is before they were cooked and the fruit salad has pineapple, strawberries, bananas, mandarin oranges, mango, and kiwi.
